photoblog image INTO THE SUNSET.........

INTO THE SUNSET.........

Just a little touch of PP trickery/magic I was playing with to basically see what I could do and see if I have a slight artistic leaning!! Thursday was a hell of a day and consequently was way too tired to post an image for yesterday, a situation which will not occur too often.

Wishing one and all a wonderful weekend.

extraordinary!
Neil Tandy: Hiya Nicola and thank you so very much. One word, such a depth of meaning. Kind regards, Neil.
Not bad! And I rather like that shade of pink against the grey. Never mind Photoshop, you are artistic, you see images and capture them!
Neil Tandy: Hey, thanks Pix!! No photoshop on this one; I used Picasa, but thank you very much indeed for your compliments. It is always nice to know if one is doing right. Kindest regards. Neil.

stunning!
Neil Tandy: Very many thanks Diya. If a pic can produce 1 word answers like this, I am very happy!! Kind regards, Neil.
Neil, you can be very PROUD of this one. It's simply fantastic. The grey global tone of the picture perfectly suits the pink/red sun... Sun and bird on the same line and so well framed. This is a number 1 picture Neil. BRILLIANT.
Neil Tandy: Thank you so very much Florence. I was not too sure about it to start with as the bird itself is not too sharply focused, but you and the others have proved that it was a worthwhile excercise. Yours is a number 1 comment Florence, BRILLIANT!!!!!! Kindest regards, Neil.
Hello Neil, you did a good job! I'm still not much into PP. Sometimes I'm afraid to change too much but you're giving me an example that it's another possibility of expression. This is really beautiful! Have a nice and relaxed (!) weekend, Julia. smile
Neil Tandy: Hello Julia. I was the same as you when I started on Shutter with regard to PP, but now that I have seen what can be done, I do use it to create certain effects, although I try not to go overboard and only on certain photos. Many sincere thanks for your lovely comments. I have been working again today, so the relaxing weekend is off!! Kindest wishes, Neil.

I'm gonna pay you the ultimate compliment, Neil, and tell you I have just added this to my Likeys. smile

I could have said this with one word: Likey.

BTW, was the sun already there and you just PPd the color? Or is that what you PPd--transporting the sun to the pic?

So glad you're feeling better!
Neil Tandy: Oh Gramma Ginn, you have made my day with this, the ultimate compliment.
The secret to this photo lies in Picasa: I took the original and did warmify, colour temp adjust and some colour saturation adjustment until I was happy. Then I did a focal b/w conversion, shifted the centre point and adjusted size and sharpness to get the effect you see here. The whole lot took about 10 mins tops. Well worth the effort I do believe!! Many, many kind regards and warmest wishes, Neil.-x-
A great and artistic one, once again, I love your work on sun here : Bravo Neil !!
Very cool shot! The extreme simplicity of the background appeals. Well done!
